PT+ Patient FAQ

Thank you for participating in the Halterix PT+ Beta program!

Halterix is an AI motion insight startup founded in Toronto in 2019. Our patented technology unlocks powerful motion recognition capabilities using ordinary sensor devices such as smart watches.

The goal of PT+ is to help you recover from your rotator cuff injury as quickly and completely as possible. Our research, completed in partnership with Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, shows that for rotator cuff patients, even a few minutes of physical therapy performed daily can have a substantial impact on recovery, particularly if the patient is able to stay with the program for a minimum of 12 weeks.

PT+ is designed to help you stay on track with your physical therapy throughout your recovery. It's a mobile app that runs on your android phone and connects with a Wear OS smart watch to track and evaluate your performance. Using motion baseline recordings created during appointments with your physical therapist, our AI can measure how effectively you're completing your exercises at home, in a personalized way that is tuned to your particular injury and capabilities.

Your performance data is securely shared with your physical therapist, who can monitor your progress, and use PT+ data to help tailor your program of care.

We've developed PT+ to showcase Halterix's technology, and we're making it available to patients through a number of clinics across Canada who have agreed to participate in our beta.

We’ve prepared this FAQ, detailed help pages and an overview videos to support your use of PT+ Clinic.

This is the first release of our software outside of a research setting, so it's inevitable that there will still be some improvements needed. For this reason, we're making PT+ beta available free of charge, and we'd love to hear your feedback.
