Exercising at home

With your baselines recorded, you’re all set to begin exercising at home. It’s important to follow your therapist’s instructions when exercising: perform your exercises as frequently as your therapist recommended and follow their directions. If you’re unsure of the movements for a particular exercise, detailed instructions will appear when you tap an individual exercise.

Setting reminders

It can be difficult to remember to perform physical therapy exercises, but your participation and engagement are critical to physical therapy. Setting reminders throughout the day to perform your exercises are a great way to set aside to perform the exercises recommended by your therapist.

To set an exercise reminder using PT+:

1. Tap the Account button to open the account menu.

2. Tap Reminders.

3. Tap the + button in the top-right of the screen.

4. Select the time you’d like the reminder to let you know it’s time to exercise, then tap Save.

You can add as many reminders as you need throughout the day.

Pain and activity limitation surveys

One of the most effective ways to track your progress is through logging of pain levels and activity limitations. PT+ will periodically ask to you enter you pain level and limitations in your range of motion and daily activities. As time passes, you’ll be able to look back at your historic scores to see how things have changed.

Pain level

PT+ tracks pain on a scale from 0 to 10, with 0 being no pain and 10 being the worst possible pain. Changes in pain level greater than around 1.7 are considered clinically significant and a good sign of improvement.

Limitation in Daily Activities

The range of motion of your affected arm can limit the activities you perform day to day. PT+ tracks the limitation of your range of motion and daily activity performance on a scale from 0 to 10 with 0 being a full range of motion without limitation and 10 being no motion at all.
